Herb Troupe A celebration visitation for Herbert N. "Herb" Troupe will be held Sunday, February 22, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Troupe, 92, of Meridian, passed away February 20, 2015, at Anderson's Hospital. Herb served in the United States Marine Corp and was a veteran of WWII. He participated in the battles for Tarawa, Saipan, Okinawa, and the occupation of Nagasaki, Japan. Mr. Troupe served as Fire Chief at Meridian Naval Air Station in the early 60's. He was a gifted carpenter, even with failing eye sight. He also enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Deweese Sunday School class. Herb will be remembered as a good man, a wonderful father, and a loving husband. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Stodard Troupe; son, Gerald Lee Troupe and wife, Michelle, and daughter, Sheryl T. Ferranti and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Christopher Ferranti and wife, Linda, Jamie Ferranti, and Nicole Ferranti, as well as two great-grandchildren.
