Herman Eugene "Gene" Bunyard

Herman Eugene “Gene” Bunyard, age 85, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019.
Gene retired from Gulf Oil Corporations as a driver after twenty-one years and Miller Transporters after fifteen years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving under the fifth motor transport squadron in Seoul, Korea. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Past Master Toomsuba Lodge 130, member EJ Knox King Solomon Lodge 130. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, ordained a deacon in January 1960, and served as a deacon and a Sunday school superintendent until April 1993 when he moved to Causeyville Baptist Church. He also served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and training union director. He returned to Hebron in March 2011 where he again served as a deacon.
Gene loved his family deeply. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Cates (Keith); his granddaughter, Harley Riley (Jacob); his son in law, Kelly Todd; his black angus cows and his Hebron Baptist Church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of fifty-six years, Ruby Bunyard.
Pall bearers will be John Keeley, Robert Delma Carlisle, H.F. Boswell, E.F. Dickens, Darrion Goudy, and Chester Goudy.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 on Thursday, March 14 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
