William Herman Usher
Graveside services for Herman Usher will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Roy Dabbs officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Usher, age 96, of Meridian passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at Silverleaf Manor. Mr. Usher is retired from ICG Railroad after over 30 years service. He was a founding member of Long Creek Water Association and served as president for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart in WWII. He was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lucille F. Usher, his children, Robert Usher (Patti), Bill Usher, Leslie Usher (DeRina), Charlotte Parker (Mike), Cary Crosby (Karen), Michael Crosby (Cathy), Donna Downey (Charles). He had 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Harris Usher, his brothers, Milton Usher and Bostick Usher, and his grandson, Chad Usher. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Building fund.
