Horace Amos Dean

Funeral Services for Mr. Horace "Pee-Wee" Dean will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Hopewell Baptist Church in Little Rock, MS, with Brother Andrew Black officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Dean, 81, of Little Rock passed away peacefully on the morning of June 21st after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during his last days of life.

Pee-wee, a beloved figure of his community, lived a rich life in service and kindness. He served his country in the United States Air Force and community through his farming efforts.

"You raised a fine family, worked the land well and always followed the Son, leave your tractor inside the barn, your work on earth is done."

He is survived by his children, Jeannie Anne Steele (Jerry), Shonda Dean, and Kerri Gallaspy, grandchildren, Lorna Blackburn, Paige Graham (Brad), Grant Gallaspy (Lexie), Gaige Gallaspy (Rachel), Gavin Gallaspy; great-grandchildren Ava, Anniston, and Maxxis Graham; Waylon and Amara Gallaspy; sibling, Alice Brashier; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death his wife of 56 years Jean James Dean, daughter, Lorna Lynn Dean, siblings; Doris Jones and Harold Dean.

Pallbearers will be Grant Gallaspy, Gaige Gallaspy, Gavin Gallaspy, Karl Motley, Neal Motley, and Will Motley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Zach Steele and Cody Steele.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and The Wounded Warrior Project.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
