Horace Land Scott Services for Horace Land Scott will be held Thursday, January 13, 2010 at 10:30 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Temple and Dr. James Ruffin officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarke County. Mr. Scott, 80, of Meridian, MS passed away January 9, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Crandall, MS. Mr. Scott was a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church for the past thirty years. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force, and co-owner of Home Town Building Materials. Survivors include his wife, Verniece Cooper Wilson Scott; his son Mike Scott and his wife Margie of North Little Rock, AK; his daughter, Libby Snell and her husband Tommy of Toomsuba, MS; his stepson, Ron Wilson and his wife Linda of Crestview Hills, KY; his stepdaughter, Debbie Jones and her husband Woody of Flowood, MS; seven grandchildren, four great grand-children; one sister, Laverne Davis of Pascagoula, MS; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his first wife, Nonnie Suttle; his parents, Collie and Mattie Bell Kemp Scott; two brothers; and three sisters. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob McRae's Sunday School Class.
