Howard M. Pate Funeral services for Howard M. Pate will be held Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Matt Pittman and Brother Curtis Guess officiating. Burial will be at Homewood United Methodist Church Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Pate, age 85, of Chunky, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at a personal care home. Mr. Pate was born on December 20, 1928 in Evergreen, Alabama. He was a member of Chunky Baptist Church, The Masonic Lodge #138, Easter Star #65, Hamas Shriners, and Woodmen of the World #3. He retired from Texaco Oil Company after working for them for 30 years. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Minnie Faye Windham Pate; three daughters, Angela Johnson, Darlene Shepherd, and Crystal Nail and husband, Eric; grandchildren, Jeffrey Anderson, Haley Shepherd, Ethan Nail and Owen Nail; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Landon Anderson; sister, Ruby Brewer; brother, Lamond Pate; sister-in-law, Ruth Pate; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmette and Rosie Pate; brothers, Marion and J.W. Pate; brother-in-law, Howard Brewer; and sister-in-law, Sandra Pate. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers of the Masonic Lodge #138 and Stan Nelson's Sunday School Class of Chunky Baptist Church.
