Funeral Services for Mr. Howard Dewayne Wright will begin at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike McKee and Bo. David Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Clay Memorial Cemetery in Cuba, Al. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Wright, 74, of Cuba, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Dewayne was born in Maben, MS and later moved to Lauderdale, MS graduating Northeast High School in 1962. He began work at American Can Paper Company and retired from Georgia Pacific Paper company after 42 ½ years. He was a member of Cuba Baptist Church where he loved attending his men’s Sunday school class where he loved every member. He was so proud of his hunting buddies, his grandsons, he often mentioned how blessed we were to have so many memories with our good grands.  He loved sports, hunting, and fishing and loved his hunting dogs.

Dewayne is survived by his wife, Charlotte Wright; sons, Rodney Wright (Cathy), Tim Wright (Christy); daughter Sandra Gray; step daughters. DeeAnn Truelove (Bobby) and Dana Nicholson (Ricky). Grandsons, Preston Nicholson (Anna), Alex Nicholson (Amanda), Matt and Clay Truelove; Granddaughters, Rainey Nicholson and Sarah Goffrier (Jeremy). Great-grandchildren, Jodi, Jordan, and Josh Goffrier, numerous nieces and nephews and one sister Lavern Pastor.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Ivy Wright; brother, Gaines Wright; Sisters, Elvie Nevins and Zelma Hitt and one grandson, Kyle Dewayne Dennis.

The family request donations be made to Cuba Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.

Pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday school class of Cuba Baptist Church; honorary pallbearers will be Phil Mosley, Danny McElroy and Bobby Pritchett.
