H. S. Sutter Services for H. S. Sutter will be held today at 10 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Carl White officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Sutter, 81, of Meridian, died Monday, March 29, 2010, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. He was retired from Barber and Sons Plumbing Company. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Ellis Sutter of Meridian; four daughters, Rosemary Sutter Rhodes and her husband, Joseph, of Bay Minette, Ala., Melanie Sutter Calvert and her husband, Randy, of Madison, Ramona Sutter Johnson and her husband, Darrell, of Jasper, Ind. and Keela Sutter Partee and her husband, Brad, of Trussville, Ala.; 11 grandchildren, Lowrey Rhodes and his wife Shannon, Meredith Rhodes Roach and her husband John, Graham Calvert and his wife Meredith, Justin Calvert, Amy Calvert, John Calvert, Jill Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Carrleigh Partee, Catherine Partee and Anna Lauren Partee; four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mary Louise Sutter of Meridian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Bertha Sutter; brother, Stancil Sutter; sisters, Hortense Sutter Phillips, Anita Sutter Allen and twin sister, Gertrude Sutter Phillips. The family requests memorials be made to Highland Baptist Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
