Mr. Temple, 56, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center after a year-long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his sister, Rosanne Temple Knight; nephews Justin Knight (Rachel) of Tylertown, MS and John Knight (Courtney Nicholson) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; great-nephew Duncan Harris Knight; great-niece Caroline Atley Knight; and a host of cousins including Kyle Temple (Kathy) and Cassie Kauerz of Meridian.

Buddy was a graduate of Lamar Academy where he played football, baseball, and basketball.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Mississippi where he was a silver chapter member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.  For many years he was an enthusiastic golfer, having made a hole-in-one on the course at Briarwood Country Club.  He was an avid sports lover, and enjoyed collecting memorabilia from Ole Miss and his other favorite teams.

Buddy was diagnosed with schizophrenia as a young man.  He worked at People’s Bank and WMOX Radio until his condition made him unable to continue.  He spent his time volunteering in many different community programs including Meals-On-Wheels, Love’s Kitchen, and The Boys And Girls Club.  His compassion for those in need was deep and selfless.  He grew up at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, and was most recently a member of Northcrest Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert Dewane Temple and Wilma Wilson Temple, and his brother-in-law Louie Knight.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Buddy’s memory to NAMI – National Alliance on Mental Illness (P.O.
