Hugh S. Hopper

Funeral services for Mr. Hugh S. Hopper will be Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Briggs Chapel, with Reverend Nick Holden officiating. Burial will be at Briggs Chapel Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hopper, age 87, of Porterville, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo.

Hugh was a member of Briggs Chapel where he was very active in his earlier years. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Hopper was a farmer for most of his life. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his daughters, Carrie Ann Randazzo (Michael), and Margaret Casiday (Tim); grandchildren, John Michael Randazzo, Christopher Randazzo, Morgan Casiday, and Mason Casiday; siblings, John Etta Buchanan, Irene Sessums, Nellie Sue Simmons, David Hopper, and Sadie Dial.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John David and Susie Clark Hopper; siblings, Mabel Snowden, Margaret Snowden, Evelyn Miles, Ina Lauver, and Inez Dial.

Pallbearers will be John Michael Randazzo, Christopher Randazzo, Mason Casiday, John David Hopper, Larry Dial, Martin Buchanan, Scott Wiggins, and Jackie Warbington. Honorary pallbearers are his nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 5:00 till 7:00pm at the funeral home and Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 2:00 till 3:00 p.m. at the church.
