Funeral services for Ida Lea Johnson will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, at 1:30 p.m., with Brother Sephus Garrett officiating. Burial will be at Damascus Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Ms. Johnson, 81, of Meridian, passed away Friday, November 6, at Rush Hospital. Lea was a loving mother and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a woman of many talents, such as working in her flower beds, taking pictures, writing poetry and books, and tracing her family tree. She was a bookkeeper and tax preparer for many years, and was also the owner of Royal Palm Pet Center in Meridian. Lea dearly cherished spending time with her family, and will be greatly missed by many whose lives she touched in her own special way. She is survived by her children, Sharon (Jimmy) Davis, Chris (Tia) James, and Lara (Purvis) Shelton; grandchildren, Jesi (Sam) Lunsford, Joshua Gunter, Marcus (Christy) Davis, Jon Davis, Shane McInerney, Becky (Shane) Bruno, Tiffany Bruno, Taylor James, Rylee James, Renatta (Wes) Smallwood, Tori (David) Hiatt, Wade Shelton, Mollie Shelton, and Gabby Shelton; eighteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Bobby) Wilson, Bea Herod, and Bonnie (Frankie Joe) Blackmon; brother, Dale (Linda) Johnson; brother-in-law, Calvin Kynerd, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Dannie Johnson; sister, Sylvia Kynerd; granddaughter, Christine McInerney, and great-granddaughter, baby Christine.
