Ida Hope Scoggin Shirley Services for Ida Hope Scoggin Shirley will be held Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with Reverends Jimmy Culpepper and Marvin Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Shirley, 87, of Whynot Community, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at her residence.She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Shirley was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Shirley and her husband Donald of the Whynot Community; grandchildren, Donald Ray Shirley and his wife Sarah of Savannah, TN, Billy Shirley and his wife Tanya of Meridian, Amy Rutledge and her husband Jason of Northport, AL; great-grandchildren, Molly, Macy and Mia Shirley of Savannah, TN, Trevor, Blake and McKenzie Shirley of Meridian, Katie, Brett and Zoe Rutledge of Northport, AL; sister in laws, Louise Culpepper of Meridian, Ida Mae Scoggin of Decatur and Sarah T. Shirley of Lisman, AL; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William Rex Shirley; infant daughter, Kathy Jean Shirley; parents, Eugene and Lillian Scoggin; five brothers and four sisters. The family requests memorials be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church building fund, Bethany Baptist Church or charity of choice. Pallbearers will be Ray Shirley, Billy Shirley, Jason Rutledge, Ronnie Shirley, Ricky Joe Shirley, David Shirley, Parker Shannon and Randy Shirley.
