Funeral services for Ms. Ila Mae Rosamond Mann will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Kenneth Owen officiating. Service Music is being provided by Mr. Scott McQuaig. Interment will follow graveside rites beginning at 1:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrolton, MS. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Ms. Mann, 88, of Meridian, died, Monday, November 13, 2023, at Anderson Regional Medical Center of Meridian.
She was born on February 28th, 1935, in Washington County, MS. Ms. Ila was first and foremost a devoted Christian. She enjoyed dancing and teaching line dancing. She enjoyed music and singing; she was also known to yodel. She was an avid reader and has obtained a vast collection of books. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling both across the United States and Abroad. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing meals with her family members. Ila was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church, formerly Southside Baptist Church, for over 50 years, where she helped wherever she was needed. Later in life she enjoyed working on puzzles and playing dominos with her friends at Aldersgate. She enjoyed sharing her family history with her friends. Ila worked in several department stores in her life and was always capable of any task she put her mind to.
Ms. Mann is survived by her children, Doris Butler (Peewee), Larry Mann (Kathy), Rita Lindsey, and Bruce Mann (Melanie).Grandchildren, Brooks Robinson, Chris Butler (Kayla), Pamela Temple (Jamie), Shannon Baker, Apryl Blackburn (Nathan), Audra Mills (Michael), Sarah Mann, Matthew Dunn (Brianna), Sean Kelly (Jamie), Ashley Gonzalez (Miguel), Daniel Boswell (Sydney), Crystal Burford (David), Lacey Truett (Jamie), and Gary Joyner, Jr. (Theresa); 27 great-grandchildren, and Eight great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Ms. Ila is preceded in death by her parents Will and Virginia Rosamond; the father of her children, Willard Mann; her children Peggy Honeycutt and Mary Ellen Mann; and siblings Ephron Rosamond, Denver Rosamond, Richard Rosamond, Lucille Rayburn, Pauline Wiltshire, Maxine Beckwith, and Betty Downs.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, great-grandsons, and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Aldersgate for making her many years of living there such happy ones.
