A memorial service for Ira Morgan will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at First Christian Church of Meridian with Dr. Mark Benson officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Mr. Ira Morgan, age 88 of Meridian passed away peacefully Saturday, August 31, 2024, at his home.
Ira was a proud veteran pilot who served over 40 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard. He was a corporate pilot for over 45 years. Ira was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Royal; children, Len Morgan (Amy) of Kingston, TN, Clay Morgan (Angie) of Grenada, MS, Denesha Curtis (Mike) of Vicksburg, MS, Lee Ann Barley (Steve) of Hoover, AL, and Paije Sieber (Bob) of Hoover, AL; grandchildren, Chelsea Tohtz (Josh), Dustin Morgan, Hunter Morgan (Emmaleigh), Caleb Morgan, Cade Morgan, Cameron Hynum (Lane), Matt Barley (Blakley), Ryan Barley (Rebecca), Harrison Barley (Meghan), Colby Sieber (Rachel), and Tate Distefano (Mike); great-grandchildren, Nola and Lila Tohtz, Ava, Hudson, Eli, and Ezra Barley, Emilia Sieber; sister-in-law, JoAnn Morgan; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Eddie Morgan; parents, Ed and Ruby Morgan; siblings, Buddy Morgan, Charles Morgan, Jane Chandler, and Tom Morgan.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sharing memorial contributions with First Christian Church of Meridian or a charity of your choice.
