Jack Coker

A funeral service for Hiram Jack Coker will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Coker’s Chapel with Rev. David Keller officiating. Burial will follow at Coker’s Chapel cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Hiram Jack Coker, age 95, of Vimville, Mississippi passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Coker was a life-time member of Coker’s Chapel Methodist Church. He was proudly served our country as a United States Marine.  He was a hardworking member of Local Union 619 for 55 years as a welder and pipefitter. He was a founding member of the Big Horn Whynot Hunting Club where he made many memories and friends. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him, he will be deeply missed by friends and family.

Mr. Coker is survived by his children, Johnny Coker (Debbie), Becky Taylor (Dwane), Susie Butler (Curtis), and Cindy Coker; grandchildren, Holly Roberts (Adam), John Coker (Karah), Dwane Taylor, Jr. (Leigh), Ryan Taylor (Hannah), Philip Butler (Jennifer), Matthew Butler, Jay Coker, Jena Jacobs, Jeremy Smith (Anna), and Leah McMahan (Lance); numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Mamie Dean Coker; son, Rev. Hiram Jack Coker, Jr.; parents, Clyde and Frances Coker; brothers, Rex and Paul Coker; and sister, Lyda Vic Scarbrough.

The family requests memorials are shared with Coker’s Chapel Cemetery Fund.

The pallbearers will be his grandsons, John Coker, Philip Butler, Matthew Butler, Ryan Taylor, Dwane Taylor, Jr., and Jeremy Smith also his nephews, Clyde Coker, and Billy Scarbrough.
