Jack Lewis Cormier Funeral services for Jack Lewis Cormier will be held Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Mike Russell officiating. Burial will be at Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Cormier, age 63, of Meridian passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Cormier was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and raised in Kenner, Louisiana. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served from 1970-1971 in the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Meridian. Jack was also a member of the American Legion Post 257 and Phi Lambda Epsilon National Educational Fraternity. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Evoynne Cormier of Meridian; son, Ryan Cormier and wife, Becky of Meridian; grandson, Austin Cormier; brother, Jed Cormier and wife Joyce of San Angelo, Texas; nephews, Brent Cormier of Collinsville, Texas and Lane Cormier and wife, Alishia of Durant, Oklahoma; niece, Sheena Buruzs of Lafayette, Louisiana; nephew, Stephen Forster and wife, Kellie of New Orleans, Louisiana; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Breaux; father, George Cormier; brother, John Cormier; and sister, Janet Buruzs. Pallbearers will be Jed Cormier, Brent Cormier, Lane Cormier, Ryan Cormier, and Austin Cormier. Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School Class.
