Jack Killen, lovingly known as PawPaw Jack, passed away surrounded by his family on September 30, 2026. He was born on July 27, 1936, to the late Lee and Rachel Killen. On August 31, 1956, Jack married the love of his life, Annie Doris Young, daughter of Asa and Alice Young. Together, they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and a whole lot of hard work. Their union was blessed with three children, the late Karan Darlene Schnieder, Albert Kevin Killen, and Steven Creg Killen.

Jack was a lifelong resident of Collinsville, Mississippi, and a faithful member of Midway Baptist Church of Nellieburg, where his faith and Christian example were evident throughout his life. He dedicated his life to helping countless members of the community from fixing ruts in driveways to giving a needed ride during the midst of Hurricane Katrina. And when Jack needed help, his neighbors were there also. He loved the outdoors whether fishing, hunting, or helping Annie in their massive multi-acre daylily garden. He was a master carpenter creating many cherished items for friends and family. Jack was happiest when he was helping someone.

He served faithfully and diligently as a sheet metal worker for the Air Comfort Engineering Company for 45 years, providing excellent work, managing as many as thirty personnel at a time, and mentoring many young men in good, honest work ethics.

Jack is survived by his two sons, Albert (Jana) Killen of Minor Hill, Tennessee, and Creg (Debra) Killen of Madison, Alabama; his sister Doris Ashmore of Union, Mississippi; and his cherished grandchildren: Megan (Jerry) Bourrell of Huntsville, Alabama; Katalin (Dalton) Fountain of Richton, Mississippi; Asa Killen of Madison, Alabama; Lowell (Jennifer) Killen of Huntsville, Alabama; Kim (Donald) Olsen of Athens, Alabama; Stephen (Megan) Killen of Birmingham, Alabama; Daniel Killen of Huntsville, Alabama; Will (Caitlynn) Niewieroski of Madison, Alabama. He also leaves behind his dear great-grandchildren Autumn Bourrell, Hope Smith, Cheyenne Fountain, Allison Fountain, Narkeez Killen, Aidan Killen, Zoe Killen, Piper Killen, Jack Albert Killen, Abel Olsen, Lierin Killen, Liam Niewieroski, and Cash Niewieroski. In addition, he is survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends from his Collinsville community who will miss him greatly.
