Jackie Monroe Brown Graveside services for Jackie Monroe Brown will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Owen officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Brown, age 83, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Poplar Springs Nursing Center where he made many friends. He was a native of Lauderdale, Mississippi, a veteran of the U.S. Marines, and retired after 25 years of service with Lockheed. He worked at Flintkote for a number of years and also worked most of his life in the Forestry Industry. In his younger years he enjoyed the outdoors and did a lot of hunting, yardwork, working in his vegetable garden, and sharing his bounty with his neighbors. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Betty Sue Brown, of Meridian; daughter, Paula Sue Gant, and husband Randy, of McDonough, GA; son, James Michael Clark and wife, Maria, of San Antonio, TX. Grandchildren, Brandi Nicole Smith and husband, Lee, of Atlanta, GA; Jay Randall Gant and wife, Jamie, of Atlanta, GA; Mathew Jacob Clark, San Antonio, TX; Kristina Michell Clark, of CA. Great-grandchildren, Lana Joy Smith, Madison Leigh Smith, Henry Lee Smith IV, all of McDonough, GA, Caleb Clark, San Antonio, TX, and Ashley Clark, of CA. Brother Chubby Brown and wife Rhonda, Lauderdale, MS; Sisters, Peggy Reynolds and husband, Grover, Theodore, AL, and Darlynn Barrie, and husband Bob, of Poway, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Brown and two very young sisters. Pallbearers will be Lee Smith, Randy Gant, Jay Gant and Mike Clark.
