Jairus Pope Barham Funeral services for Jairus Pope Barham will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Decatur United Methodist Church with Reverend Bruce Taylor and Reverend Billy Owen officiating. Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Barham, age 81, of Decatur completed his earthly life on September 13, 2014. Jairus Pope Barham was born on February 12, 1933. He was kind, gentle, and faithful. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Amy Barham; daughters Suzanne Griffith (Ron), Amye Slate, and Cherry Baker; grandchildren Erin and husband Josh, Kevin and wife Brandi, Andrew and wife Lehne, Joanna and husband Leslie, and Jairus (Jack). He also leaves great-grandchildren Josselyn, Carson, and Spenser; brother O.C. Barham and wife Ruth; his church family and countless friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Newton County American Legion Post #89 Hut or International Associations of Lions (1500 McElhenney Road, Decatur, MS 39327).
