Services for James A."Buddy Gibson Sr." will be held Saturday May 1,2010 at 3:00 pm at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with the Rev.Joe Anderson,Dr.Carl White,and Dr.Raymond Leake officiating.Burial will be in the Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr.Gibson,73 of Meridian died Thursday April 29,2010 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mr.Gibson was as member of Carmel Baptist Church,a past deacon,and a retired millwright from James River after 39 years.Mr.Gibson also served 4 years in the U.S.Air Force followed by 2 years of reserve.He was a kind,loving person who loved his family,especially his son and grandchildren.Mr.Gibson always had a great sense of humor. Suvivors include his wife,Bobbie W.Gibson of Meridian,A son,Jimmy Gibson of Meridian,2 grandchildren Shelby Gibson,and James Adrian Gibson III,both of Meridian.Three sisters,Janie Wright and husband Gerald of Meridian,Julia Chambers of Meridian,Sara Gibson of Meridian.A host of nieces,nephews and other relatives. Mr Gibson is preceded in death by his parents Aaron and Verdie Gibson,and sister Grace Childrey. The family request memorials be made to Highland Baptist Church Building Fund,and Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Pallbearers will be: David Little,Michael Brooks,Lindsey Keene,Algie Davis,Sonny Moore,Joe Wilkinson,Fred Bean,and Larry Whitehead. Visitation will be Saturday May 1,2010 from 1-3 at the funeral home.
