James L. Cardwell Services for James L. Cardwell will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ritchie Ables officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Cardwell, 84, of Meridian died Monday, December 19, 2011, at Specialty Hospital. He was in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II, The Korean War and the Vietnam War. Mr. Cardwell retired after serving twenty one years in the service. He was a member of Anchor Church of God of Prophesy. Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Virgie P. Cardwell of Meridian, brother Edward Cardwell and his wife Maggie of Alabama, sister Glenda Bacon of Lamont, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents James Edward and Idella Cardwell and his sisters Agnes Dawson and Dorothy Davis. Pallbearers will be Ricky Nelson, Rick Nelson, Heath Nelson, T.J. Bishop, Paul Bishop and Cleve Roberts.
