JAMES "EDDIE" EDWARD FOLLOWAY JR. Funeral services for James "Eddie" Edward Followay Jr. will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. with Bro. Roy Dabbs, Bro. Mike Everett, Bro. Bill Webb, Bro. Jimmy Culpepper, and Bro. Ryan Culpepper officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Baptist Cemetery on Hwy 145 South with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Eddie Followay, age 63, of Meridian, passed away, Sunday, July 6, 2014, at his home. Eddie was born in Missouri. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling of Meridian after 35 years of service. He was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Sue Followay of Meridian; a very special and loving mother-in-law, Louise Culpepper of Meridian; his mother, Betty Rankin of Kentucky; his daughters, Stacy Allen and husband Patrick, Kim Smith and husband Tommy; his son, Jamie Followay and wife Keely all of Meridian; grandchildren, Brittany and Jack Allen, Keaton and Darcie Smith, Lexy and Lakyn Followay; brothers Teague Doggett and Paul (Rhonda) Doggett; sisters, Mary (Joe) Doughty and Lynn Pressler all of Kentucky; brother and sister in laws, Jimmy and Judy Culpepper, Cotton and Frances Moffett, and Glenn and Cindy Walker all of Meridian; several special uncles and aunts; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Followay Sr.; his special parents, Arthella Cole, Cecil Cole, Rex White, Floyd Hayes, and Thomas Rankin; grandparents, Birdie and Oscar Housman, and James and Effie Followay. Pallbearers will be Keaton Smith, Jack Allen, Rob Culpepper, Chris Moffett, Jeremy Moffett, Joshua White, and Josh Doggett. Honorary Pallbearers are the Pat Martin Sunday School Class of New Hope Baptist Church. Words cannot express his gratitude and love that he had for his extended family, friends, co-workers and customers of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company throughout his 35 years of service. Special thanks to Dr. John Clay and the entire Anderson Cancer Center staff, Dr. William Billups III, Dr. Eric Pearson, Dr. Frank Harman, Sta-Home Hospice Staff, and Anderson's Hospital Oncology Floor. Thanks to all family, friends, and churches for the prayers and support over the last 5 years. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
