Funeral services for James D. “Jimbo” Griffin, Jr. will be held Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Blackwater Baptist Church in Kemper County with Reverends Heath Riggs and Gary Rivers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jimbo, age 64, of the Blackwater Community, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Woodland Court.

He was a member of Blackwater Baptist Church and was well known throughout the association.

Survivors include his brother, William F. “Bill” Griffin and wife, Melanie of Blackwater Community; nephews, Tyler Griffin and wife, Kate of Collinsville and Matt Griffin of Blackwater.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James D. Griffin, Sr. and Freda Hopper Griffin.

Pallbearers will be Billy Holloway, Al Turnipseed, Jeff Peden, Chuck Sanders, Roger Cheatham, and Billy Cade.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Gideon’s International.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
