James A. Hamrick Funeral services for James A. Hamrick will be held Monday, April 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Hamrick, age 69, of Daleville, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. James graduated from Cash High School in Cash, Arkansas. He retired from the United States Navy and served as an Air Traffic Controller. During his service he toured the United States and several foreign countries including Iceland and Italy. He served aboard several ships as Air Traffic Controller. After retirement, he enjoyed raising cattle. He will be remembered as an active member of the community and was always willing to help his friends in the cattle industry. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Beverly Hamrick; children, Jonathan Hamrick, Allison Fisher and husband, Charles, Krystal Hamrick, Nickolas Hamrick, and two daughters from previous marriages, Dana and Sandy; grandchildren, Steven, Dale, Angel, Sarah, Emilee, Mikel, Landen, and David; two great-grandchildren; sister, Anita "Jo" West and husband, Jerry; brother, Glenn Hamrick and wife, Shelia; brother, Charles Hamrick; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Lee and Wilma Edith Boyles Hamrick; brother, Hal Hamrick; and sisters, Beck Bailey and Wanda Lewis. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Blaire E. Batson Children's Hospital, 2500 North State Street, Jackson, MS 39216 and the American Cancer Society, 8351 CR 514, Meridian, MS 39301.
