Mike Hoy Services for James Michael Hoy will be held Friday, January 10, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverends David Pickard and Richie Ables officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Hoy, 51, of Meridian died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on August 26, 1962, in Meridian, Mississippi. He graduated from Clarkdale High School in 1981 and attended Livingston University. He was employed at Pioneer, Inc. for seven years and at Georgia Pacific for eighteen years. Football and golf were his favorite pastimes. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Sheri Smith Hoy; son, James Jeffrey Hoy and his wife, Hannah Shirley Hoy and one granddaughter, Caroline Louise Hoy of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; mother, Shelby LaBeff Pender, and her husband Cecil Pender of Meridian; grandmother Bertie Mae LaBeff of Meridian; brother, David Edison Hoy and his wife, Nancy Hoy, of Meridian; sister, Kim Hoy Rivers and her husband, Paul Rivers of Meridian; sister, Lisa Jones and her husband, Barry Jones of Decatur; nine nieces and ten nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Livingston Hoy, and his aunt, Joyce LaBeff. Pallbearers will be Jay Stallings, Eddie Nowling, Mark McMillan, Randall Rose, Paul Brown and David Pickard.
