James L. Pope

Funeral services for James Pope will be held Monday, June 20, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Reverends Corey Fontan and Anthony Mansfield officiating.  Burial will be at Forest Lawn.

Mr. Pope, age 85, of Meridian, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, at his home.

Mr. Pope was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Pauline Pope, of Meridian; daughters, Brenda Nicholson and her husband, Kary, of Chunky, Linda Webb and her husband, Gower, and Lisa Johnson and her husband, Mike, all of Meridian; grandchildren, Emily Thompson and husband, Travis, Ashley Massey and her husband, Chris, Mandy Hopkins and her husband, Josh, all of Chunky, Kimberly Fontan and her husband, Corey, James Johnson and his wife, Traci, and Brittany Johnson, all of Meridian;  nine great-grandchildren and one due in October.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl R. and Mary Jane Pope; brothers, J.C. Pope and Bob Pope; sister, Pauline Payne.

Pallbearers will be James Johnson, Travis Thompson, Chris Massey, and Josh Hopkins.
