James Curtis "Bob" Martin Services for James Curtis "Bob" Martin will be held Monday, July 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, with Dr. John Temple and Reverend James Ruffin officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Martin, 84, of Meridian died Friday, July 15, 2011, at his residence. He was a retired insurance salesman for National Life Insurance Company. Mr. Martin was a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church and was a deacon, a choir member and a Sunday school teacher for over forty-five years. He was a World War II veteran as well as the company bugler. He is survived by his daughter Becki Weisser of Meridian; two sons Bobby Martin and his wife Lynn of Meridian, Bubba Martin and his wife Sandy of Knoxville, Tennessee; a brother Bill Martin of Mobile, Alabama and a granddaughter Jaz Martin of Meridian. He was preceded in death by his wife LaNell Martin. The family request memorials be made to Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons and choir members of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church.
