James Floyd Mitchell Services for James Floyd Mitchell will be held, Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Allan Ford officiating. Mr. Mitchell, 67, of Meridian died July 31, 2011 at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a retired Senior Chief from the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served three tours. Survivors include his wife Sherlie Henry Mitchell of Meridian; his children Teresa Horton, Julie Gardner, Deana Schutte, Jana Mitchell and Taushlyn Higgins; step sons David Chaisson and Chad Chaisson; seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchild; a sister Elaine Eschete and brothers Ocie Mitchell and Jerry Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents Sybil Marie and Ocie Lee Mitchell; son Douglas Wayne Mitchell; brother Wayne Mitchell; granddaughter Brianna Nettles and great-grandson Logan Scott Gardner.
