James Albert Peeples James Albert Peeples, in his 97th year, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the home he shared with his son and daughter-in-law in Meridian, Mississippi.Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Born in Elmore County, Alabama, he moved to Houston County, Alabama at a young age and was a life-long resident. Although employed by E.W. Twitchell Company at retirement, he always considered himself a farmer, having a deep attachment to the soil as a youth and on into adulthood. It was dear to him. He was a good man who read the Bible and practiced Christian moral values, especially in his later years, and earned the respect of his family and friends. He was trustworthy, humble and honest as the day is long. He plowed a straight furrow. His children include, daughters and son-in-law Jackie Brown of Symrna, Tennessee, and Jean and Jimmy Pitchford of Gadsden, Alabama and son and daughter-in-law Gary and Sara Peeples of Meridian, Mississippi. Four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a brother, sister, and four nieces make up the other surviving close family members. He out-lived most of his friends except an out-standing one, Bobby Bennett, who remained steadfast and supportive to the end and his neighbor and close friend, Mary Thornell. Their loyalty and kindness will not be forgotten. The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff at Hometown Hospice of Meridian, Mississippi with special thanks to Joanne Wilkins. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Arc of Tuscaloosa, 1330 University Boulevard East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35404.
