Funeral services for Mr. James E. Robinson will begin at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with the Reverends Bob Null and Jimmy Reed officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites at Pine Grove Church Cemetery in the Martin Community. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Mr. Robinson, 93, of Brandon, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. James Robinson, also known as “Pappaw Jim”, graduated from McComb High School and Southwest Mississippi Junior College in Summit, MS. Mr. Jim was a Korean War veteran; he served 33 years in the army and retired as a Captain. He worked at the Lauderdale County Tax Assessor’s office with the love of his life Peggy J. Robinson. He and his wife were faithful members of First Assembly of God Church in Meridian, MS. Jim and Peggy were members of the Mockingbird GoodSam RV Club. He enjoyed spending his retired years with Peggy, traveling in their motor home; not to be confused with a “camper”. He loved Peggy Jean’s coleslaw and cornbread with buttermilk. In his final years, he lived with his granddaughter Krystin Smith and her family. He looked forward to catfish plates and afternoon naps in his easy chair. Mr. Jim is survived by his Step-children, Elvin Waller (Becky), Carl Waller (Suzette), Terry Waller (Trish), and Doyle Waller (Joanne); Step-Grandchildren, Celina Reed (Jimmy), Rebecca Etie (Errol), Shanda Looney (Dale), Christopher Waller (Amanda), Jeremy Waller, Kyle Waller (McCall), Krystin W. Smith (P.J.), Korey Waller (Megan), and Destiny W. Shaw (Matthew); Step-great-grandchildren, Matthew Reed, Madyson Reed, Jacob Ousley, Elijah Ousley, Nevaeh Waller, Isaiah Waller, Mary Bennett Waller, Ann Lockeridge Waller, John Houston Waller, Jack Majure Waller, Rhett Smith, Finley Smith, Frankie Mae Smith, Mary Lawrence Johnson, as well as a host of extended family members. Mr. Robinson is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Jean Robinson; his father, Edgar James Robinson; his mother, Eula McFaden Robinson; step-children, Donna Rigdon, and Darrell Waller; and step-grandchildren, Jason Waller and Christopher Waller. Pallbearers will be Doyle Waller, Kyle Waller, Elvin Waller, P.J. Smith, David Chandler, and Roy Farve. Online condolences may be expressed at robertbarhamffh.com.
