James "Sonny" Peninger Mr. Peninger, age 74, of Meridian, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Rush Foundation Hospital. He graduated from French Camp Academy and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Ysleta Lodge in El Paso, Texas. Sonny was a truck driver for over 50 years and had traveled all over North America. He was the former Sgt. of Arms with the American Legion Post 598 in Horizon, Texas. Survivors include his children, Tammy Faucette and husband, David, Bubba Peninger and fiancée, Christy, and Linda Thomas; former wife, Martha Huggins; grandchildren, Bliss Pigott, Dalton Peninger, Brea Steadham, James Henry Peninger III, Colton Peninger, and Abbi Peninger; great granddaughter, Ramona Peninger.
