James T. "Jimmy" Gossett Memorial services for James T. "Jimmy" Gossett will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 1:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donald Gentry officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Mr. Gossett, 78, of Meridian, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Rush Hospital. He was instrumental in starting Parkinson Support Group in Meridian. Jimmy was also actively involved in planning every Southside Reunion. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Burks Gossett; son, Terry Gossett, Wyndell Gossett; daughters, Sharon Moore and her husband Keith, Sheryl Gossett, Lara Collum and her husband Jeff; grandsons, Barry Murphy, Jr., Justin Gossett, Josh Collum, Drake Collum, Eli Collum; granddaughter, Chlee Henderson; great-granddaughters, Ava Catherine Henderson, Ella Kate Henderson, Chandler Murphy; brother, Charles "Buddy" Gossett and his wife Ann; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Odell and Linda Burks; several nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to name. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Minnie Gossett; a dearly loved son, Alan Gossett; in-laws, Alvin and Pearl Burks and especially close friends, Joan and Eddie Chambers and two members of the quartet he sang with for many years, Bobby Rushing and Louis Wolfe.
