James Clifton "J.C." Tidmore, Sr.

Funeral services for James C. Tidmore, Sr. will begin Friday, January 7, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Bro. Kyle Naylor officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Tidmore, 77, of Meridian passed away Tuesday, January 04, 2022, at Diversicare of Meridian.

J.C., or “Jimmy,” was born in Meridian on January 10, 1944. He graduated from Meridian Highschool in 1962 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal. J.C. was a skilled electrician. He retired from AT&T with 25 years of experience in telecommunication operations. He also retired from Meridian Community College working in plant operations. In retirement, he was an avid, amateur golfer, enjoyed researching the Tidmore family lineage, following the Alabama Crimson Tide, teaching his grandchildren how to fish and work with tools, exploring the city in his pickup truck, and updating his loved ones on the weather report.

Survivors include his children, James “Jay” Tidmore, Jr. (Dee), Melinda Adkins (Bob), and Deborah Crumpton (John); his grandchildren Lori Spears (Wesley), Trey Tidmore (Jessica), Chase Tidmore, Zach Adkins (Tanja), Hayden Adkins (Madi), Cooper Crumpton, Claire Crumpton, and Mason Crumpton; his siblings, Jan Pruitt, Peggy Sullivan, and Pat Tidmore; his former wife and friend, Syliva Tidmore, along with many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.​

He is preceded death by his parents, Geneva Tidmore and Cliff Patton Tidmore, a World War II Army veteran.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons Zach Adkins, Hayden Adkins, Trey Tidmore, Chase Tidmore, Cooper Crumpton, and Mason Crumpton.

The family will receive guests Friday, January 7, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to funeral rites.
