James Tillman

Graveside services for James Tillman will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Tillman, age 77, of Meridian passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his son’s home in Madison, Mississippi.

James graduated from Mississippi State University and married Rita Monette on December 19, 1959. He practiced accounting and was a well-respected CPA in Meridian for over 55 years. He was a loyal Mississippi State Bulldog and proud father and grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, James “Jim” Tillman Jr. (Emily) and Steve Tillman (Dana); grandsons, James “Tripp” Tillman III, Jacob Tillman, Isaac Tillman and Elijah Tillman; brother, Joe Tillman; uncle, Ray Little; and numerous other cousins and family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Monette Tillman and parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Tillman.

Pallbearers will be Selby Salter, Will Hudson, Richard Clayton, Frank Brewer, Wayne Anders, Billy Anders, Johnny Herrington, Irvin Martin, Ronnie Massey, Charles Hurst, Clay Tillman and Eric Tillman.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the 1957 State Baseball Championship Team.
