James "Tim" Thornton

A graveside service for Tim Thornton will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bethel Southern Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bob Followell officiating, burial to follow. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Tim Thornton, age 58, of Centerhill Community "Shucktown" passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, at his home.

Tim was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend. He loved his pig Daisy. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years Amy Thornton; children, Hannah Cherepanya (Brandon), Courtney Clarke (Johnny), and Katie Gough (Brent); grandchildren, Paisley Cherepanya, Dylan Clay, Jacob Clarke, Spencer Clarke, Van Gough, Lennox Gough, and Sawyer Gough; daddy, James T. Thornton; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ulmer "Red" Stevens; mother, Peggy Joyce Thornton; brother, Randy Thornton.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Cherepanya, Johnny Clarke, Daniel Cochran, Andy Nelson, Delaine Moore, and Marty Reed.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Bowles, Scott Blalock, Fred Bond, and Dougy McCarter.
