James O. Vincent
Graveside services for James O. “Jim” Vincent will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Dr. John Temple officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Vincent, age 90, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Vincent was born and raised in Meridian. He served in the United States Navy Air in World War II. After returning from the war, he graduated from Meridian High School and then attended the University of Southern Mississippi. Jim worked successfully within the insurance industry for more than 50 years, including his longstanding partnership with Vincent, Gray, Lackey, and Booth agency. He was an active member of the Hamasa Shriners and Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors and pursued hunting, fishing, and barbequing.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ann M. Vincent of Meridian, and son William O. Vincent of New York, NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edna Vincent; sister, Gladys Merritt; and brothers Frank Vincent Jr, John “Morris” Vincent, and Rayford Vincent.
The family request that memorials be made to Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church and French Camp Academy in French Camp, MS.
