Funeral services for Jamie Covington will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Eric Mabbott officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Covington, age 85, of Meridian passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at her home.

Mrs. Covington had a passion for loving children, as reflected through her careers at Crestwood Elementary School and Northcrest Baptist Church Daycare. She was a member of Bailey Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She enjoyed entertaining family and loved watching her children and grandchildren participating in sporting events. Jamie enjoyed gardening with her husband, Jimmie, and had a love for flowers.

She is survived by her children, Bobby Covington (Cindy), Amy Odom (Ricky), and Kyle Covington (Amy); grandchildren, Christopher Covington (Ariel), Matthew Covington, Haley Davis (Shaun), Raleigh Williams (Dan), Shelley Courtney (Kip), Ashley Gibson (Tyler), and Kristen Covington (fiancé, Kyle Tubb); great grandchildren, Conner Covington, Avaih Mullins, Hope Davis, Jude Davis, Cooper Gordon, Nick Williams, Brett Gibson, and Tenley Gibson; sister, Joyce Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jimmie C. Covington; parents, Alton and Josephine Bowen; sisters, Joann Mathis and Donna Rose Miller; and brother, Charles Alton Bowen.

Pallbearers will be Chris Covington, Matt Covington, Shaun Davis, Dan Williams, Kip Courtney, Tyler Gibson, and Kyle Tubb.
