Janalee Jean Carlyle Slaughter

Funeral services for Mrs. Janalee Slaughter will be held Monday, October 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Bishop Spencer Blalock officiating. Burial will be held at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Houston, Mississippi. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Slaughter, age 77, of Meridian, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Mrs. Slaughter worked at East Mississippi State Hospital and Laurelwood Adolescent Unit as a psychiatric nurse. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Survivors include her children, Bonnie Slaughter (Scott Acosta), Ronnie Slaughter (Andrea), Brenda McMullen (Sonny), Glenda Brown (Mike), Georgia Chaney (Barry), Robbie Slaughter (Cindy), Ricky Slaughter (Mandy), Becky Harris (Jason), Barbara Ridley (Rodney), and Russell Slaughter (Sabrina); thirty-seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Douglas Carlyle, Ron Carlyle, Russell Carlyle, Marilyn Washburn, and Connie Hickey.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Joe Slaughter and one daughter, Linda Slaughter.

The family requests memorials be made to the Mississippi Diabetes Foundation.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Brown, Jase Brown, Ryland Johnson, Reed Harris, Ruben Harris, Michael Brown, J.T. Brown, Joe Slaughter, Grant Slaughter, Briggs Slaughter, Josh Russell, Jared Russell, and Jacob Vincent.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home and Monday, October 15, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
