Janie Beard Lifer

Memorial services for Janie Lifer will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Bunger and Reverend Stephen Bolden officiating.

Janie Beard Lifer went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 4, 2017.  She was married to Rev. Lamar Lifer, pastor of Salem Baptist Church in Kewanee, MS.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Charles Andrew Lifer, her daughter, Lamarcia (Marci) Jan Miller, granddaughter, Bethany Jean Miller, grandson, Beau Bryant Miller, sister-in-law, Linnie Scarbrough and husband, Randy, nieces, Leesha and Liz Faulknur, and a nephew, Jonathan Golden of Austin, Texas.

Born May 26, 1939, Janie was preceded in death by her mother, Dixie Lou Scott Beard; her father, Andrew Ross Beard, and sister, Betty Jean Estes.

A graduate of Louisville High School, Clarke College, and William Carey College, she taught school for 50 years.

Janie was a pastor's wife for 54 years.  She played both the piano and organ in church during those years as well as worked with children in the church.

Memorials can be made in her name to Salem Baptist Church, Kewanee, MS, or Gideons International.
