Janis Lynn Watson

Funeral services for Ms. Janis Lynn Watson will be held Friday, May 11, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Glenn Jackson officiating. Burial will be held at Meridian Memorial Park.

Ms. Watson, age 67, of Meridian passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Anderson Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Ms. Watson taught elementary school for thirty-four years. Upon retirement, she was affiliated with the Trinity Dyslexia Education Center. Ms. Watson was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, was active with the Shoebox Ministry, and participated in several mission trips.

Survivors include her brother, Larry (Carol) Watson; one niece, Amy (Clarke) Watson Burns; one great-niece, Emma Burns; and one great-nephew, Anderson Burns.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Janette Watson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Shoebox Ministry of Central Baptist Church (2511 C Street, Meridian, MS 39301).

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
