Funeral services for Jasper Shelton will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Brothers Michael Yancey, Sr., Joey Shelton, and Marcus Finch officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jasper was employed with Flintkote/Apache/Celotex for thirty-eight years. He loved music, especially country and bluegrass, and he could sing and play any instrument well. Jasper was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. He loved his family dearly, but above all he loved the Lord.

Jasper is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Mollie Pierce Shelton; children, Kathy (Steve) Rutledge, Jane (Ronnie) Shelton, Nancy Shelton-Neal, Judy (Michael) Yancey, and Purvis Wade (Lara) Shelton, seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Rhodes and Eula Mae Westbrook Shelton; siblings, Cecil Shelton, Mardell Wood, Doris Robinson, Lois Tims, and Ada Stephens.

Pallbearers will be Chris Rutledge, Wade Shelton, Andy Miles, David Hiatt, Wes Smallwood, Henry Shelton, and James Robinson, and honorary pallbearer, Drew Yancey.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
