Jay Legan Kemp

Services for Legan Kemp will be held Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 am at Pine Grove Church in Martin, with Brother Tommy Espey officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kemp, 65, of Collinsville passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at University Medical Center in Jackson.

Legan was the owner of Kemp Electrical Services, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW #917). He was a member of Meridian Tipmasters but mostly he loved his family, home and dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Kemp, of Collinsville, daughters: Melanie Boyle (Greg) of Gulfport, and Valerie Needham (Billy) of Brandon, grandchildren: Maya Boyle, Malerie Boyle, Mikayla Boyle, Jaycee Vanegmond, William Needham and Stella Needham, mother-n-law: Ruth Hand, of Collinsville, sister: Joelyn James (Curtis) of Vicksburg, several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Richardson Stewart, father, Joseph Herman Kemp and grandparents, A. D. and Ruby Ellen Richardson.

The family request memorials be made to East MS Animal Rescue.

Pallbearers will be Robert Adkins, Clark Huntley, Joseph Nowell, Raymond Tucker, Jack Rhaly and Junior Davidson.

Honorary pallbearers are Greg Boyle, Billy Needham and Ricky Burkeen.

Visitation will be Sunday 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home and Monday 10:00 – 11:00 am at the church.
