Nila Jean Caraway Pickard Graveside services for Jean Pickard will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jack Kern and Reverend Tom Belcher officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Pickard, age 80, of Meridian, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Pickard worked as a bookkeeper for the Chancery Clerk's office for over 40 years. She served in numerous positions, with her greatest joy being teaching Sunday school to the children and singing in the choir at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Chester A. "Bug" Pickard; son, Steve Pickard (Carolyn); daughters, Sheryl Marshall (Tiny), and Pamela Thompson (Michael); grandchildren, Dana Hopkins (Jeffery), Stefanie Read (Chris), Renae Pickard, Thomas Marshall, and Tyler, Ben, and Will Thompson; great-grandchildren, Justin and MaKayla Hopkins, and Taylor and Brooklynn Read; step grandchildren, Nathan Goldman, Jenny Harvey (Ryan), Emily Stanley (Steven), and Jordon and Seth Read; step-great grandchildren, Dalton, Tyler, Braxton, and Brannon; sister, Ethel Doner (Jessie); sister-in-laws, Pauline, Peggy, Shirley, Betty, and InSoon Caraway; and Johnny Pickard (Eloise); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Betty Caraway; step-mother, Mary Caraway; brothers, William B., Jessie, Maurice, Milton, Claude, Roland, Pete, and Tommy Caraway; and sisters, Edna Smith and Irene Martin. Pallbearers will be Thomas Marshall, Ben Thompson, Will Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Jeffrey Hopkins, Chris Read, and Brock Busby.
