Funeral services for Jeanette Mathis will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Lane Busby officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Garden with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Mathis, age 81, of Marion passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

She is at peace in the living presence of our creator, where she is reunited with family and countless saints who have gone on before. More importantly, she is in the embrace of our Savior, Jesus Christ, where the truest love, peace and joy is unending and where we hope to join her one day. She gave her life to the Lord and for thirty years worked in the prayer room at Hatchie Chapel in Walnut, MS. She moved back to Meridian to be closer to the family she loved and continued to pray for and comfort others.

Survivors include her son, Sammy H. Foy, Jr., of Meridian; daughter, Valerie Denise Foy Temple and husband, Waylon, of Meridian, also considered second daughter, Lynn Lunquist and husband, Scott, of Texas; grandchildren, Waylon Temple, Jr. and wife, Stacey, Jennifer Hester and husband, Ryan, Kellyn Cooper, Tyler Temple and wife, Kylie, Parker Temple and wife, Rachel; great-grandchildren, Gina Hasson, Will Temple, Sumner Hester, and Riley Temple; sister, Nellie Stubbs; and numerous nephews and nieces; special lifelong friends, Floyd and Dean Crum, also special friends at Bedford Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jarvis Ray Foy; parents, Vilonia Coffman Smith and William Henry Coffman, and sisters, Roberta Williams, Clara Fairchild and Patricia Godwin.

The family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 196 Charmant Drive, Suite 4, Ridgeland, MS 39157.

Pallbearers will be Waylon Temple, Jr., Tyler Temple, Parker Temple, and Will Temple.
