Jennifer L. Slaughter McDonald A celebration of Jennifer L. Slaughter McDonald's life will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Coker's Chapel, with Reverend Paul Roller and Reverend David Keller officiating. Burial will be in Coker's Chapel Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. McDonald, 39, of Knoxville, Tennessee, died July 3, 2011, in Knoxville. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She never met a stranger. Throughout her battle with brain cancer she remained faithful, which has served as an inspiration to others. Jennifer has gone on to be with her beloved Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on June 1, 1972, in Daytona Beach, Florida and grew up in Meridian, Mississippi, where she was very active in the community and her church. She graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and worked for Suntrust Bank as a Commercial Banker. Jennifer was a member of Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church and was very active in the musical programs and children's programs. Jennifer will be greatly missed by her husband, Raymond C. McDonald and son Jackson B. McDonald of Knoxville, Tennessee; parents Vivian R. and Jack C. Slaughter, of Knoxville, Tennessee; sisters and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Scott Gillespie of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cindy Dowling of Cornelius, North Carolina and Susan and Danny Dycus of Greenville, Mississippi and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents D. Clarence and Hazel Sanders Slaughter of Kingsport, Tennessee and Fred A. and Monnie Keys Rosenblatt of Greeneville, Tennessee and father-in-law Chuck McDonald of Meridian, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made in Jennifer's memory to Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church, 7234 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37909.
