Jerry and Shirley Sisk Graveside services for Jerry and Shirley Sisk will be held Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Paul Trosper will officiate, with Brother Jackie Strebeck and Brother Roy Dabbs assisting. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Sisk, 73, and Mrs. Sisk, 68, passed away May 23, 2015, at their residence. Jerry and Shirley were well loved by all of their friends and family. They were married on August 19, 1965. Jerry served in the US Navy during Vietnam aboard the aircraft carrier USS Shangri la. He retired from Meridian Lauderdale County Public Library. Jerry was known to always have a smile on his face and was friendly to everyone. Shirley was well respected by her peers as an outstanding caregiver, teacher and mentor in the field of nursing. She graduated from Matty Hersee School of Nursing, and served as a nurse at Riley Hospital and East Mississippi State Hospital Nursing Home, but it was being the staff nurse with the Lauderdale County Juvenile Center that was her passion. Jerry and Shirley are survived by their children, Sarah Sisk Holley and Jeff Sisk; grandchildren, Journey and Austin Holley; brother, Walter (Terrie) Ridinger; sister, Mary (Demp) Parkes; aunt and lifelong friend, Shirley Ann Williams.
