Graveside services for Mr. Jerry R. Smith will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 24, 2024, at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, with Reverend Rusty Walton officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Smith, 78, of Meridian, died Sunday, May 20, 2024, at his home.

Jerry retired from Norfolk Southern as a conductor after many years of service. He previously worked as a conductor with Amtrack.  He served in the United States Air Force and was a proud Veteran. He was a farmer and enjoyed working outdoors; He raised chickens, vegetables, and hay.

Mr. Jerry is survived by his wife, Shiela Smith; children, Caleb Smith,  Kellie Smith, Raschell Zipp (Albert),  Christopher Harrold, Courtney Murphy(Jae), Lisa Davison (Trey), Beth Null (David), and; grandchildren, Madison Harrold, Bell Murphy, Brynn Murphy, Cody Harrold, Ella Harrold, Liam Murphy, Drew Harrison (Lindsey), Michael Whobrey, Jr. (Allyson), Jessy Glover (Ryan), Kody Whobrey, Cory Null (Clarissa), Garrett Moore (Alexis), Slade Moore (Madie), Brennyn Null, and Braxtyn McMullan. Great-grandchildren, Riley, Judah, Caysen, Swayze, Ollie, Olivia, and Colbie. His sister, Sheila McLaughlin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his daughter, Lorelea Smith; his parents, Lindsey and Grace Farmer Smith; and his brother, Charles Smith.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Smith, Christopher Harrold, Allen LaBelle, Michael Whobrey, Kody Whobrey, Slade Moore, Brennyn Null, Braxtyn McMullan, and Drew Harrison.
