Jesse Foster Jr. Services for Jesse Foster Jr. will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 10:00a.m. at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverends Gary Blair and Dr. Greg Massey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home officiating. Mr. Foster, age 83, of Meridian, died Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Anderson Hospital. Mr. Foster was an active member of Central Baptist Church, and was a member of the American Legion, and he was a Mason and a Shriner. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a past Boy Scout Leader, and worked at A & P Food Store, and IGA Food Store, ending with Super Stop Stores. Survivors include his wife of 47 ½ years, Joan Walker Foster, of Meridian, his two children, Sue Ellen Buchanan, David Foster and his wife Kathy, all of Meridian. He was also survived by a grandson, Steve R. Buchanan III, of Birmingham, Alabama, two step grandchildren, Susan Stokes and Ben Stokes, of Meridian, a brother in law, T.L. Kirkland, of Meridian, one nephew, Dennis Foster, of Meridian, and a niece, Barbara Foster Crowe, of Birmingham, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Foster Sr. and Vira McCall Foster, and his brother, Raymond Earl Foster. The family requests memorials be made to the Central Baptist Church Building Fund, or the Eula Gordon Scholarship.
