Jim Cantey

Funeral services for Jim Cantey will be held Monday, July 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Rhett Payne officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Cantey, 80, of Meridian, passed away July 7, 2016, at University Medical Center in Jackson.

Jim was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church and served as an elder for many years. He was also given the high honor of Elder Emeritus. Jim was the owner of Cantey Paint and Interiors.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, JoEllen Cantey, of Meridian; sons, Michael Cantey and Mark Cantey, both of Meridian, Tim Cantey and his wife, Robbie, of Montgomery, Alabama, and David Cantey and his wife, Jeanna, of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Lauren, Jamie, Zachary, Sam, Nettie, Savannah, James, Annabelle, and Ella; sister, Ruth Bundren and her husband, Buzzy, of Wilmington, Delaware; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lewis and Kathryn Cantey.

The family requests memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church.
