Jim C. Townsend Graveside service for Jim C. Townsend will be held Monday, August 22 at 1:00 at Magnolia Cemetery, with Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Townsend, 50, of Gunnison, Colorado died Monday, August 15, 2011, in Colorado. Jim was born in Meridian. He graduated from Meridian High School, attended Meridian Community College, Florida State University and graduated with a Business Degree from Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado. Jim was a member of the United States Army and was a member of the Golden Knights Sky Diving Team. He formerly owned a business in Bermuda. He lived in Colorado for the past twenty years. Survivors include his mother Jane Temple Townsend of Meridian, sister Cynthia Townsend Howarth and husband Richard of Meridian; aunt Joyce Temple Shamburger of Atlanta, Georgia; nephew Jetson Taylor and wife Bryn of Meridian; niece Brooke Kauerz of Meridian; nephew Jamie Taylor and wife Misty of Brandon; nieces Juliet and Cynthia Howarth of Meridian; cousins Temple Shamburger Romberg, Bucky Shamburger and Denton Shamburger all of Atlanta, Georgia, Slay Boswell of Meridian, Tanya Deaton of Phoenix, Arizona and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jimmie C. Townsend. The family requests memorials be made to Rocky Mountain Christian Ministries, 1040 Hwy 135, Gunnison, Colorado 81230. Pallbearers will be Jetson Taylor, Jamie Taylor, Ned Addy, Kelly Watson, Robby Boyd and Winkie Glover.
